3 weeks ago I decided to take a trip to downtown Evanston to see the sites and just have a stroll. It was the first time in a long time that I could put on a pretty dress to show off my freshly shaved legs and hit the town. Now I chose a beautiful floral print dress with a wide skirt that I could twirl in all day long. This was a bad idea.
I should have known that it wasn’t going to be a good day when I walked to the car and the wind went straight up under the dress and showed a lot more than I cared for. Did I do the smart thing and change? No, I carried on like a true soldier walking into their own demise.
I got downtown and commenced the peaceful strolling and window-shopping, but brother wind had other plans for me. Not more than 5 minutes in, I am flashing all the people around in every direction … thank God I wore a new pair of undies that day lol.
With my hands holding the dress taut around my legs, I sprinted into the Gap store nearby and frantically searched for shorts to put under this beautiful dress.
Sidenote: even though they sell up to a size 20 online, they only sell up to size 16 in store. What’s up with that? But that’s a story for another day. I digress.
With no shorts in sight, I rummaged through the dresses, and picked out a few to try on. Fortunately, I love the Gap, I love the style of their clothes and the quality, so it’s safe to say I was not mad about buying new clothes.
I found a dress; a simple midi, sleeveless denim number. Of course, I also found 2 blouses which will be worn to death this summer. I am in love, sigh. I’ve also thrown in a top I recently found from Ross because why not? Off the shoulder denim crop top with crochet detail, how could I leave it out? 🙂
My knight in shining armor
p.s. disregard my hands and poses; I don’t know why I was doing the most lol
